Hiring is all about making yourself irrelevant, says Matt Bland, co-founder of London-based Eat Safe. You have to hire people that know more than you, so you can move on to other important stuff that will inevitably come your way as your startup grows. And as all of that comes at you, it becomes harder and harder to step back and take a more strategic view of your company and where to head next, says Claudia Hosu, CTO and co-founder. Hosu and Bland represent the business and technical sides of a startup, offering their versions of building the right teams, and deploying the right tools so they can focus on the business of scaling their company.
