Over the last five years, Swiggy went through a hypergrowth phase on AWS. This talk describes three major technical challenges that Swiggy faced while delivering a “convenience as a service" platform. First, Swiggy is rapidly expanding from online food delivery to other categories, so it needs to build multi-tenant hyperlocal ecommerce platforms that support business agility. Second, Swiggy’s platform needs to be highly elastic to cater to changing demand patterns and support high throughput systems and high fanout factor. Third, Swiggy is making systemic improvements to achieve 99.99% availability. Come learn about the company’s design patterns and best practices across compute, cache, and storage layers.
